New versions - Old subjects

Just because you have painted something once don't think you can't do so again.

Painting the same subject again and again is good way to improve your skills. Confidence comes with familiarity and practice. What is learnt on one painting is carried to the next and different solutions can be tried for any problems identified.

In the previous post I showed the development of an acrylic painting from start to finish. The painting below, done in oils, is the same subject. I like the second version better than the first. It is lighter and brighter, the shape of the tree is more interesting and I think this painting has a better sense of distance than the previous one.
